Last year the Islanders scored as many goals as both the Devils and Rangers. The Devils made the playoffs and the Rags barely missed. The players lost weren't vital to the offense last year (Tambi, Bergie, Park) so one would think an upgrade on defense would be the most important thing heading into free agency.

Also there are plenty of reports from players agents that Snow offered their clients the most money, but the players simply went to contenders (or the Devils). Not much you can do when you can't offer the ability to be an immediate cup contender like the Penguins, Flyers and Devils.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6906987130048730403.post-46317381080677348262009-02-16T09:13:00.000-05:002009-02-16T09:13:00.000-05:00This Islander team is easily the most boring, soft...This Islander team is easily the most boring, softest team in their history(excluding Witt, Sutton, Jackman and Guerin) No one dumps the puck in the opposing zone and bangs in the corners. They all just stand around and get abused by other bigger teams. I feel like I'm watching practice sessions for the Norwegian Olympic team. Additionally, it's an outrage that season ticket holders are paying full price, when the organization is undercutting us with all kinds of promotions, King Kullen, etc, for much less per ticket. The organization cares much more about raising money for the Lighthouse than putting a competeitive NHL team on the ice. Not many fans care about whether the Lighthouse becomes a reality, but rather just want to watch NHL hockey.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6906987130048730403.post-39825894760349224162009-01-25T22:12:00.000-05:002009-01-25T22:12:00.000-05:00ur pretyy dumb and dont noe anything there done th...ur pretyy dumb and dont noe anything there done this seasona dn are gone forvewr this summer hello kcAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6906987130048730403.post-6415547668437982282009-01-05T16:18:00.000-05:002009-01-05T16:18:00.000-05:00Thanks for the clarification.Taking revenue and be...Thanks for the clarification.
Taking revenue and being responsible for the staffing & procedures are 2 different things. I saw DiPietro as the play-it-safe choice that everybody had, so that was out right away. At the same time, I didn't have faith in any of the other players to hang around for very long. So I did the only thing I could think of - get a jersey with my number (#19), but not my name. It's not cheesy because it doesn't have my name, it'll never go out of style, and it will always mean something to me. How does this help you buy presents for your kids? I have no idea. But I like my jersey a lot :-)Bryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05827819886966116346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6906987130048730403.post-67729139506850075062008-11-22T15:15:00.000-05:002008-11-22T15:15:00.000-05:00Doesnt matter if you bought off the net, you can s...Doesnt matter if you bought off the net, you can still find place to reletter. I dont live in NY anymore, but i do remnember the Islanders stores would letter jerseys. I remember when i got Berard on my jersey it was 75 for the letters and #s. I Went thru that same dilema when i got my last jersey, and chose DIPI. He then got hurt. SHould have gotten BOSSY like i had wanted, but then he would have done something. I guess im bad luck :(. I did get that Yashin jersey when he did 1st come to the team, so i did get like 6 years aout of it. THats more then i got out of any jersey, unless DIPI goes his full contract. Lets just hope.
